Aboriginal Economic Development Forum Coming to Kapuskasing

Kapuskasing will play host to 26 First Nation communities and 15 regional municipalities coming together to talk about the future of northern Ontario.

On March 22nd the Aboriginal Economic Development forum will act as a networking opportunity and an introduction for partnership and development.

Aboriginal Liaison Coordinator for Kapuskasing, Terrence Sutherland says it’s the first step in trying to make changes to the way local businesses, residents and communities interact.

Kapuskasing, Cochrane, Smooth Rock Falls and many others will be joined by the Moose Cree and Constance Lake First Nations and the Mushkegowuk Development Corporation, just to name a few.

Sutherland says the tone has changed since our recent federal election as Trudeau is taking a nation-to-nation approach, much like the forum will be community-to-community building.

The event will be hosted at the Civic Centre in Kapuskasing.
