Students from the District School Board Ontario North East have taken a trip to Ottawa to be a part of the Ontario Student Trustee Conference.

Kendra Cove from KDHS and Jacob McGonigal from Kirkland Lake District Composite spoke at the conference before other trustees, school board staff and alumni.

The board says this conference is important because it has a chance to hear directly from students on pressing logistic and social issues.

Among those at this year’s conference were aboriginal cultural inclusion and lesbian, gay and transgendered issues.

The talks ran from February 18th to the 21st in the nation’s capital.
