It’s colon cancer awareness month and north eastern healthcare providers are partnering up to promote screenings.
HSN and the Northeast Cancer Centre say it is the second leading cause of cancer death in both men and women in Canada.
The organizations are asking residents to either schedule screenings or look into home fecal occult blood tests.
HSN says that men and women between the ages of 50 to 74 are at the highest risk.
