Hundreds of healthcare workers from across Ontario converged on North Bay Monday to support a fired North Bay nurse.
Sue McIntyre claims she was fired by the North Bay Regional Health Centre for speaking out against violence in the workplace.
Her supporters say the violence is real and It’s right across the province.
Amanda Farrell with the long term care facility in Powassan says in nursing homes, incidents of patients attacking patients and staff are rising.

For everyone’s safety, Farrell says it’s time for the Ministry of Health to act.
An arbitration hearing on McIntyre’s firing takes place March 17th.
