FONOM Recognizing Northern Agriculture and its Contributions

The Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities is taking their support of local farmers to the next level.

FONOM is creating a new strategy called Growing Ontario, to celebrate and raise awareness to the contributions by the agricultural industry.

The initiative will represent the interests of grain farmers and forestry workers, along with the cities, that rely on resources to survive.

President of FONOM, Al Spacek, says forestry and agriculture represent around 30 billion dollars in economic activity in Ontario, and FONOM plans to help highlight that contribution.
