The MNR says over the long weekend anglers can fish for free without a license.
If you are thinking about taking up ice fishing the MNR is asking the public to be careful when venturing out onto the ice.
With the mild winter there have been a few instances of thin ice and northern residents being unsafe on the ice, especially where there are strong currents running beneath it.
You’re free to fish without a license from the 13th to the 15th over this long weekend.
