If you’re planing on commuting to Timmins and the surrounding area, a winter storm is on the way.

Environment Canada has put out a special weather statement for a lot of the north, as a storm is expected to roll through tonight.

Right now, they are predicting 10-15 cm of snow by the end of Wednesday from North Bay to Timmins.

Environment Canada is also predicting heavy winds, which means low visibility on the roads with blowing snow.

Environment Canada will continue to monitor the storm’s progress.

Currently Timmins is under a special weather alert.

Cochrane and Iroquois Falls may also be put on a winter storm warning as it moves through the area.

We will be providing updates on changing conditions throughout the day.
