A large, low-flying aircraft may have startled some residents as it was passing near Kapuskasing on Friday.
Some residents took to social media saying the plane appeared to only be a couple of hundred feet off the ground.
The Kapuskasing airport says it was probably a routine test being conducted by a government aircraft.
Transport Canada says because of the mining and forestry industry there are often aircraft flying at relatively low altitudes conducting surveys in the north.
