Timmins Taking the Fight Over Northern Gas Prices to Competition Bureau

High gas prices in Timmins continue to be a hot topic.

City council has decided to petition the Competition Bureau to find out why the city is consistently paying 10 to 20 per cent more at the pumps.

Mayor Steve Black says the high cost of fuel affects businesses and residents.

Black says transportation has always been the argument, but Timmins, Kapuskasing, and Hearst aren’t in a unique position when you compare our location to other cities in Ontario, Northern Manitoba, or Quebec.
