North Eastern School Board Asking Parents to Take Initiative Regarding Head Lice

Kids at the D-S-B ONE with head lice are being asked to stay home if they haven’t had treatment.

The school board made that decision during their meeting this week, after there was a case of lice in Cochrane.

Chairman Doug Shearer says their policy is that the student should have the opportunity for treatment.

They will be moved back in the classroom until they can get treated, and if that doesn’t work than he says they have to take the next step of telling the student to stay home until the issue is resolved.

He says if lice aren’t dealt with, the whole class will have a problem with it.
