Man Vaulted off Joly OFSC Trail

A Machar Township man has become the first snowmobile-related death of the year in the Northeast.

Police say 55-year-old Brian Bradley was riding on an OFSC trail near Joly Township when the crash happened.

The OPP says he drove onto the soft powder at the edge of the trail and was vaulted into the air and into several trees.

With a lower than usual snow base on the trails, it make stumps and other obstacles on the ground more dangerous for riders.

This comes only days after the OPP and the OFSC wrapped up their Snowmobile Safety Week Campaign.
