Kapuskasing’s first town council meeting of the year convenes this evening, with a lot more than quarterly reports on the agenda.
Council will be discussing a Basic Income Guarantee program from the city of Kingston which has gone out to most Ontario municipalities.
Council will also be hearing from students at KDHS who will be seeking a donation from the town in order to attend February’s Forum for Young Canadians.
Wayne Major from the Kinsmen Club will be making a presentation on behalf of the Nalin Mehta Memorial Santa Clause Fund, which had underwhelming support over the holidays.
The public is both welcomed and encouraged to attend all council meetings.
