Low Canadian Dollar Could Boost Northern Forestry Sector

The low Canadian dollar isn’t bad news for every sector of industry and could benefit the north.

While food prices may have risen significantly, the low loonie has given lumber mills in the north an opportunity to increase exports.

The low dollar makes prices of importing wood very cheap and could mean an increase in work and demand for the northern forestry sector.

The Tembec mills in both Kapuskasing and Hearst employ large percentages of the population and the potential for a greater demand is always good news.
