CBA: New Numbers Suggest Targets Aren’t Being Met

Some alarming new numbers are coming out of the Timmins blood drive for 2015.

Territory Manager Joanne Drake is asking the city for help, because the blood drives are only getting half of what they should be.

She says 72-hundred units of blood need to be collected every week in Ontario for hospital patients, which means Timmins has to collect just over two hundred units.

Drake says that means they need almost double the amount of appointments they need booked. Donated blood goes to car crash victims, cancer patients, and transfusions.

The next blood drive in Timmins is on the 27th and 28th.
