A northern Ontario MPP will be visiting the Monteith jail today to try and get details about an ongoing labour dispute.
As of Sunday, Ontario’s correctional workers will be in a legal strike position.
Timiskaming-Cochrane MPP John Vanthof, and NDP Correctional Services Critic Jennifer French will be touring the jail this afternoon.
So far, no new negotiation dates have been set between OPSEU and the province.
It could have an effect on corrections for the entire Northeast.
