Winter Storms Left Most of North East Without Power Over Christmas

Some residents in the Northeast were left without power on Christmas Eve.

In Cochrane a lightning strike left about 500 customers without power after it took out a transformer hub, nearly 15,000 residents were without power in Timmins and over 250 were affected in Kapuskasing.

Hydro One says it had crews dispatched across the province over the holidays as most of southern, central and parts of northern Ontario experienced winter storms.

You can always check the maintenance map on Hydro One’s website for up-to-date information on what areas are affected and ETRs here.
