Wait for Mental Health Resources Shorter in the North

A study shows that wait times for residents of Northeastern Ontario accessing community mental health treatment programs is shorter than wait times in the south.

The provincial average is 42 days, but for the north, the average is 25 days to tap into local programs.

However on the negative side, the north has less access to psychiatrists than our southern counterparts.

The report was released by the Ministry of Health.
