First Nations’ Raising Concern Over Climate Change

Ontario’s Regional Chief is raising some big concerns over climate change and how it is affecting First Nations communities in Northern Ontario.

Isadore Day says Indigenous people are the first to feel the effects, and he is asking the province and the feds to order a climate change impact study.

He says the length of time winter roads are open has been dramatically reduced, causing food, fuel, and medical supply shortages.

He says the winter roads used to be open for 50 to 60 days, and now they are looking at 20.
