Questions are being raised in a recent Auditor General’s report about the lack of action at the Ring of Fire.
Mines Critic Michael Mantha says the report shows that Ontario is ninth overall in attracting mining projects, despite the province being the largest mineral producer in the country.
Mines Minister Michael Gravelle says they are going to be implementing a new mineral development strategy, which will deal with a number of recommendations the Auditor General is putting forward.
Gravelle says they aren’t going to be imposing those at the Ring of Fire without working with First Nations at the chromite project.
