New Bill to Impose Stricter Fentanyl Regulations

A Private Member’s Bill making it tougher to get fentanyl in Ontario is expected to get unanimous consent today at Queen`s Park.

Vic Fedeli of Nipissing introduced the Bill and it’s up for a final vote today.

Fedeli says the Bill could get Royal Assent later this week making it law.

However despite this, Fedeli says it will still take time for pharmacies to start complying with the new restrictions.

The new regulations will force fentanyl users to return their used patches to drug stores before being prescribed a new one.

People have died from misusing fentanyl by overdosing on the drug.
