Queen’s Park: Jobs in Forestry Raising Concerns

Concerns over the loss of jobs in the forestry industry are coming up at Queen’s Park.

Northern Development Critic Michael Mantha is asking the province to do something about a mill closing down in Hornepayne, which he says is putting 40 per cent of their town out of work.

Forestry Minister Bill Mauro says they take this issue very seriously.

For example, the Resolute mill in Iroquois Falls.

Mauro wouldn’t promise a solution, but says the province is going to work to find an answer for Hornepayne and the rest of the industry.
