Lysyk: Lack of Planning and Partners Holding Back Ring of Fire

The Tory MPP for Parry Sound-Muskoka says the findings in a report from the Auditor General on the Ring of Fire doesn’t surprise him.

In her report, Bonnie Lysyk says the Liberals still don’t have performance markers or timelines in place for the massive chromite project.

MPP Norm Miller says this is something the P-C`s have been saying for years.

Miller says since first being formed five years ago, a Ring of Fire Secretariat has spent 13-million dollars and still has no results.

Miller adds last year the Liberals formed the Ring of Fire Development Corporation.

He says 15 months and half a million dollars later, this agency still has no representation from the feds, mining or Aboriginal communities.
