Fraudsters posing as representatives from Microsoft have been reported calling residents in the area.
Staff Sergeant Baldassare Nuccio from the OPP says never give any personal information away over the phone without first verifying the caller’s identity.
He says if you do receive a suspicious call from a business or organization, verify their identity and if you find it to be fraudulent to call the police.
Microsoft says it will never call its customers to ask for personal information.

If you have received a call and given passwords or other information Microsoft says to change all passwords, run a Windows security scan and get in touch with their official tech support.
