The Ministry of Labour is taking a closer look at mining safety guidelines.

Following two mining deaths in the last three months in the north and an international conference on mine safety, the province is taking the initiative to improve health and safety.

The Ministry of Labour says the recommendations are under final review and the outline is open for public input.

Residents, and especially members of the mining community, are encouraged to comment.
