NOHFC Funding Internships for Northern Graduates

The NOHFC is making an investment with the goal of helping young northerners find jobs in their field through internships.

The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation says the funding will be channelled through over 430 young graduates.

The NOHFC says any post-secondary graduates from the past three years in the accredited programs will be eligible for the paid internships in both the private and public sectors.

The Minister of Northern Development and Mines Michael Gravelle says the program’s main objective is to keep graduates working here in the north.

Gravelle says applicants can apply at any time based on when employers make postings.

The $11.3 million will go to internship fields such as mechanical technology, marketing, accounting, law, IT and many as dates for enrolment and eligibility are announced.
