Province’s Commitment to Northern Infrastructure

The province says it’s investing over half-a-billion dollars in highway infrastructure projects throughout the north in the next year.

This comes on the heels of a plan to expand Highway 11 between North Bay and Cochrane to four lanes.

Minister of Northern Development and Mines Michael Gravelle says the investment could mean more involvement from the NOHFC and its federal counterpart, FedNor.

Culvert replacement throughout the Highway 11 corridor, the Railway Street restoration project in Cochrane and the Highway 11 Connecting Link Upgrade Project in Kapuskasing are also part of the investment.
