Local Artists and Community Come Together to Help School Food Programs

Over $6,000 has been raised by local musicians for elementary school programs in Kapuskasing.

Local acts like the Riffs and Small Town Liberation Project took to the stage to raise money for Andre Cary, Jacques Cartier and St. Patrick’s schools.

The event was held at the Knights of Columbus hall in down town Kapuskasing.

One of the organizers and one of its performers, Jennifer Landriault says the success of the event could set a precedent for local artists coming together to raise money in the community.

She says the community support has been overwhelmingly positive and events like this not only help raise funding for organizations and programs like this one, but showcase local talent.
