Questions Raised from Loss of Industry Partners in Ring of Fire

The Wynne Liberals are getting hammered by the Opposition parties over the Ring of Fire.

The Tories discovered documents showing the Liberals were planning to tax Cliffs Natural Resources up to 34-million dollars a year.

Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli is now asking if that’s why Cliffs left but the Liberals claim the company sold its claims because of market conditions.

Meanwhile New Democrat Mike Mantha says Noront Resources could be the next to leave.

Mantha says according to inside sources, Noront will stop spending money at the Ring of Fire next month.

The Algoma-Manitoulin MPP says it’s because the province is dragging its heels on infrastructure and First Nation agreements to develop the site.
