Police in the Northeast are asking shoppers to be safe while doing their Christmas shopping over the holidays.
The OPP says keeping items stored in your trunk and out of sight is a great way to deter theft from your vehicle.
Police say carrying a minimum amount of cash, keeping your vehicle parked in a well-lit or open area as well as keeping purses and wallets on yourself at all times.
The OPP says using caution in a parking lot and try not to overload yourself with too many items.
