OPP: Safety a Priority over Halloween

Police are asking parents and drivers to be careful over Halloween while trick-or-treating.

The OPP says it will be out in Kapuskasing and Hearst helping pedestrians and drivers stay safe in our neighbourhoods.

Police say while out trick-or-treating to stay away from poorly lit or dark homes, discuss the places and route children will be taking before heading out and always be cautious near main roads.

The OPP says dressing children in brightly coloured costumes and going with make up or face paint over masks can help a child see better and be more visible around dusk.

Police are asking parents to inspect the goodies children pick up before they eat them.
