PC Leader Patrick Brown says the sale of Hydro One will have a big impact on customers in Northern Ontario.

Remote communities such as those in the north are powered by lines that are generally considered unprofitable.

Speaking in the legislature, Brown said there is a risk a private Hydro One will view Northern lines as a poor return on investment.

Brown also said Hydro One feels expanding transmission lines into the Ring of Fire is a bad decision for investors, then it will never happen.

The Ring of Fire project was a major point of discussion during the federal election, with candidates agreeing it could provide jobs to the Northeast for decades, transforming the region.
