Virtual Care Unit is Recognized for Innovating Healthcare in the Northeast

The Virtual Critical Care Unit has innovated healthcare in the north and is being recognized.

The unit connects with 22 hospitals across the region including the hospitals in Cochrane, Kapuskasing, Kirkland Lake, Hearst, Iroquois Falls, Smooth Rock Falls and Timmins.

It does so digitally by connecting doctors, healthcare workers, the Northeast LHIN and HSN via video conferencing to treat patients.

Health Quality Ontario is presenting the unit with its Minister’s Medal for innovating diagnosis and treatment over the vast area of the Northeast.
