Light up the Night raises awareness against domestic violence and sexual assault.
The event at Riverside Park in Kapuskasing on Friday night will have participants wearing glow-in-the-dark gear.
Participants will be running or walking in a variety of events.
It’s being held by Habitat Interlude, which offers shelter services, community outreach, child witness and family violence services.

One of their outreach workers, Dawn Nuccio says it’s a powerful message the organization wants to send.
Nuccio says the organization offers services outside of their shelter as well, such as helping children and women get back on their feet after traumatic experiences.
