Ontario’s Regional Chief is not buying the federal government claim about their 1.9-billion dollar surplus.

Isadore Day says the surplus is a sham, and is the direct result of under-funding to First Nations.

Day says the feds promised that same dollar amount to First Nations for education funding two years ago, but they never got it.

He says under-funding education is resulting in more poverty, because Aboriginal kids remain poorly education.
