Public Works Flushing Water Mains

Public works will be flushing water mains in the western part of Kapuskasing.

The project will take two weeks to complete as crews will be using fire hydrants to assist in the flush.

The town’s Manager of Public Works, Eric Cote says it’s part of preventative maintenance to keep our water clean.

Cote says residents could experience a slight drop in water pressure and some discolouration.

He says it only takes about five-to-ten minutes per fire hydrant and to expect some water on streets.

Cote says it’s preventative measures like this which have kept Kapuskasing scoring 100 percent in water quality testing for the last four years.
