NOSM Expanding Residency Positions for Potential Doctors

New medical residency positions will be increasing in northern Ontario.

The Ministry of Health and Long Term Care is opening up five positions for 2016.

President of FONOM Alan Spacek says the federation has been campaigning for the positions and now the province has responded.

Doctor Katherine Cervin from the Northern Ontario School of Medicine says more medical students being trained in the north are returning to work.

There two residency positions and four third-year students from NOSM working at the Sensenbrenner Hospital and Family Clinic.
