The Early Bird Northern Showcase was a big hit in Kapuskasing in more ways than one.
The Recreation Director of the Sports Palace, Marc Clavelle says there was a lot of traffic generated in the town because of the tournament.
He says the arena makes a vast majority of its money off of hockey-related sources.
He says large special events represent a very small portion of its revenue.
Clavelle says the tournament could open the door for more, larger tournaments.
