College and university students from Kapuskasing and Hearst will see changes to OSAP this year.
The province is taking steps to modernize student loans.
These changes include allowing students to control how much of their aid they withdraw if they don’t want the full amount.
The largest change is the requirement for students to report their vehicles as an asset.

This means students won’t get less funding for owning a vehicle.
OSAP will be changing the way students are expected to contribute to their costs, allowing estimates to be higher for students.
