For 25 years Stella Arezza has been going door-to-door to raise money through the Terry Fox Foundation.
In those 25 years she has raised over $55,000 for cancer research, channelled through the annual Terry Fox Run, which kicks off on September 20th.
Arezza says she has raised over $3,000 for this year’s event.
The Ontario Provincial Director at the foundation, Martha McClew, says the grass-roots foundation has grown in its 35 year history thanks to supporters like Stella.
McClew says to date, near $700 million has been raised nation-wide.
She says the digital era has helped greatly to grow the foundation, most notably through social media.
With over 90,000 followers on their Twitter and Facebook pages, McClew says it’s growing every day.
