From the pandemic comes a special book about Northern College

Here’s a story about a story that arose out of the pandemic.

Northern College was trying to not lay off any staff while its campuses were closed.  President Audrey Penner says some employees were redeployed while there were no students on campus.

“One of our library staff archived 60 years worth of pictures,” Penner says, calling that “an amazing piece of work” encompassing all campuses and programs.

A coffee table book resulted from it, with communications officer Kyle Gennings doing the writing.

“There was no attempt to make this coffee table book an absolutely detailed historical piece of work,” the president adds. “It is very much about the cultural story of the various campuses in the college.”

All staff members will receive a copy of “Follow Your North Star: The Northern College Story”, which will eventually be offered for sale to the public.
