Mining Industry Thriving in the North

Good news for mining workers in the region, it was a good second quarter for Primero Mines.

Company revenue totalled $67.4-million.

The company is extending a drilling exploration program at its Black Fox Mine and Grey Fox site near Timmins.

Primero plans on spending 17-million dollars to further explore both sites.

For the year, the company expects to produce more gold and silver from all its mines and adds the yield could be 20 per cent higher over 2014.

Also, it’s been a positive first half for Lake Shore Gold.

The company had gold sales of 98-thousand, 500 ounces and that’s a record.

Lake Shore also announced a new underground exploration program to add to its reserve this past May.

And at Bell Creek, a mining company which employs hundreds in the region, more than doubled its reserve base.

For the year Lake Shore remains confident that it will produce at least 180,000 ounces of gold.
