Big Winter Festiglace bringing back some of the older activities from the past

Preparations for the town of Kap’s Big Winter Festiglace from March 10-19 are going well, according to tourism and special events coordinator Kelly Kraby. She’s thrilled with the non-profit organizations’ involvement. One of the activities that Kraby is excited to bring back by popular demand is the snowmobile extravaganza.

“We’re welcoming people east and west to come over here to Kapuskasing, for a great day of snowmobiling, a poker rally,” she said. “At the end, it’s a big celebration at the Centre de Loisirs.”

Kraby says road hockey returns with both youth and adult tournaments.

“The first weekend, which is on Sunday the 12th, there’s going to be an under 18 road hockey tournament,” she said. “The 18th which is the Saturday of the last weekend, Sensenbrenner Hospital Foundation is going to be putting on a charity road hockey tournament. It’s going to be more for the older age group.”
