Seminar deals with handling grief when you lose your spouse

The Porcupine couple who have presented programs on dealing with loss and grieving… are hosting a two-hour seminar this Sunday on the loss of a spouse.  It’s available in person or on Zoom.

Peggy and Ted Bendell use the resources of American-based organization Grief Share. Peggy says grief is grief, but there’s a second layer when you lose a spouse.

“Who’s going to take out the garbage now that your husband’s gone? You know, there’s a lot of things you do as a team. Now you’ve lost your teammate,” she remarks.  “These little things. How do you handle those lonely evenings when there’s no activities around?”

Sunday’s event is between 3:00 and 5:00pm, with the in-person component at the Bible Fellowship Assembly in Porcupine, across from the skateboard park.

Bendell says the church is covering the costs, but you can donate and receive a tax receipt.

“If you want to do Zoom, you have to contact us right now so we can get this application to you, because there’s a confidentiality to sign and then we have to get the Zoom link to you.”

The email address to accomplish that is [email protected] .
