Warmer weather could impact snowmobile riding during holidays

Holiday snowmobile riding continues to be good in the area at least for now. According to the OFSC interactive trail guide, trails are open from Cochrane to Opasatika with some limited availability in certain areas.

Nature is expected to turn up the temperature to nearly plus eight degrees with rain beginning tonight and into tomorrow that could complicate riding conditions even further.

In Cochrane, Polar Bear Riders president Kenny Johnston recommends you stay off the trails when they’re soft and wet.

South of there – in the district bounded by the Tri-Towns, Shining Tree, Foleyet, Timmins and Iroquois Falls, trails are not open yet.

Again consult the OFSC trail guide for the latest information.
