Breanna Plourde Rudolph Run another hit at KDHS

Cooler weather didn’t stop about 700 students, teachers and support staff from having fun and participating in the third annual Breanna Plourde Rudolph Run at Kapuskasing District High School on Thursday morning.

The Kapuskasing Fire Department led students on one, two and three kilometre routes. Co-organizer Emma Dagenais says there’s an important message for students from this special event.

“You shine brighter than Rudolph so we wanted to leave all students with a positive message,” she said. “We love the idea of schools and community coming together for a positive event promoting healthy living, activity and building school community which are all things Breanna championed during her life.”

She adds that it was the first year that high support and leadership students helped to plan the event.

“So I think that they had hearing their input on how they would like to hear things done,” she said. “It was just really incredible to bring different voices together and have this event happen, and with all of their hands, it wouldn’t be possible.”
