Festival of Lights at Riverside Parks is set for Saturday night

The Festival of Lights at Riverside Park returns on Saturday night at 6:30 pm.  Tourism and special events coordinator Kelly Kraby invites everyone out to the gazebo for the holiday tradition.

“The mayor is going to be there to welcome everyone,” she said. “We are counting on everyone to help us with the countdown so the lights can go on at the same time in the park.”

Kraby says there will be lots of other activities planned.

`This year we have Kap River Farms – that are gonna give free wagon rides up and down McPherson Avenue,” she said. “We have Santa Claus who is going to be making a special appearance. He always comes to our Festival of Lights and we are really happy to have Santa Claus come.”

There will also be a bonfire, free hot chocolate and a scavenger hunt.  Kraby notes the park will be lit up until after the holiday season in January for everyone to enjoy.
