Heritage Fund supports tourism projects

Several tourist attractions in the Hearst-Kapuskasing area are getting money for improvements from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund.

Veilleux Camping and Marina in Hearst is getting $419,465, for the resort to buy equipment and build things like campsites and fishing huts.

The Kapuskasing Golf Club gets $317,224 for a clubhouse revamp.

The Lac Ste.-Thérèse Local Services Board is the recipient of $110, 520 to refurbish its dock and boat launch.

And $104,326 goes to North 49 Powersports in Kap. It will allow the motorized sports vehicles dealer to branch out into tourism offering guided tours on ATVs and snowmobiles.

The grants were announced by Northern Development Minister Greg Rickford, at a northern tourism summit in Thunder Bay.
