School Board and First Nations Agreement

Earlier this year Kashechewan was evacuated due to flooding with most of the evacuees taking up residence in Kapuskasing.

There are still students who won’t be able to return because of sewage back-up as a result of the flooding.

An education service agreement has been signed by the Ontario School Board North East to allow students who may still be displaced to attend school.

The new deal will see eight children attending high school and four in the elementary system allowing them the opportunity to continue their education uninterrupted.
