F-O-N-O-M paid a visit to Kapuskasing for a meeting of its Board of Directors.

The Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities is an organization that represents over 80 per cent of Ontario’s land mass and numerous Northern towns and cities.

The Mayor of Cochrane, Peter Politis discussed the closure of Cochrane Power and the large impact it will have not just on the town, but the entire region.

Their stance against the sale of Hydro One, the Spring Bear Hunt and the ongoing allocation of the Moving Ontario Forward plan were all discussed.

The M-O-F will see $11.5 billion invested in infrastructure outside of the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.

Allan Spacek, President of F-O-N-O-M and Kapuskasing’s Mayor says it’s important that the North’s voices are heard in the development and design of programs this investment will create.
