The Kapuskasing Fire Department’s Thanksgiving Food Drive is back to help restock the pantry of the Food Bank. Firefighters and support staff will be collecting boxes of food that you will leave at the end of your drive way on Tuesday, October 18. Fire chief Pat Kennedy says the food drive is always a great time.
“This is one of the events that all of us look forward to doing,” he said. “This is one of those team building exercises at the same time and it feels good to do something good for your community.”
Kennedy says the community never disappoints in helping out those in need.
“Last year we had a significant year,” he said. “We had 57 hundred pound collected which was a record weight. We had a very generous donation of $10,000 from Pascal and Phillipe Guertin plus other cash that we had picked up.”
